Review Your Travel Documents

Three to four weeks before your trip starts, you will receive a Travel Documents Package by email. Be sure to download the PDF and save it in an easily accessible location for your journey. The email will be titled:

Rocky Train Vacations – Travel Documents

Your Travel Documents include everything needed for a seamless rail vacation, such as your detailed daily itinerary, hotel confirmations where applicable, tour and transfer vouchers where required, train confirmations, and additional important information to support your trip.

What's Included in your Travel Documents?

This section outlines the key elements of your Travel Documents and how they are organized, including day-to-day itineraries, hotel confirmations, train confirmations, and any supporting materials needed for included activities. Reviewing these documents in advance helps ensure a seamless journey. For convenience, it is recommended to print a copy and save a digital version on your mobile device so important information is always accessible, even when service is limited.

General Information

When you open your Travel Documents Package, the first item you’ll see is a Welcome Letter. This letter provides guidance on how to prepare for your journey and make the most of your Rocky Train Vacation. For a smooth experience, it is recommended to keep a printed copy of your Travel Documents with you throughout the trip, along with a saved copy on your mobile device.

Since some portions of the rail routes may pass through areas without phone service, having both a physical and digital copy ensures you always have access to essential trip information.

Following the Welcome Letter, you’ll find a page of links to helpful resources on our website. These links provide information relevant both before departure and during travel, including details about your rail journey, the destinations you will visit, and tips to help you enjoy your experience.

The package also outlines the best ways to contact Rocky Train Vacations (a division of Canada Rail Vacations Inc.) before your departure and while traveling, ensuring you receive timely assistance whenever needed.

The Travel Details and Travel Itinerary section contains all the essential information needed to complete your trip.

At the top, you will find the basic details of your reservation as well as confirmation and reference numbers that may be helpful in completing your trip.

Below, the day-by-day itinerary outlines your journey, including hotel names and number of nights, scheduled items/activities, important notes such as pick-up times and locations, and corresponding Voucher Codes.

A two- to four-letter code in the Voucher Column indicates that an additional document in your Travel Documents Package is required, or has additional information on that activity. If the field is blank or marked N/A, only your name and a valid photo ID will be needed for check-in.

For more in-depth information on an item in your Travel Itinerary, blue, underlined text indicates that there is a hyperlink to our website which includes additional details.

For Hotel Reservations, please provide your name and valid photo ID at check-in as no voucher will be required. The Hotel Confirmations Page will serve as an additional confirmation of your hotel reservation and is referenced by a Voucher Code on your Travel Itinerary, indicating the supplier it was booked through. If the hotel staff is having difficulty finding your reservation at check-in, please show them the confirmation page as it may include additional details to help them locate your reservation.

*Please note that in some cases, the hotel may have only entered one of your names on file for the reservation, although we provided all names to the hotel. You will be required to provide a credit card for incidentals during check-in, and in some locations, you may be required to pay mandatory resort fees that are only payable on-site.

**Hotel stays in-between days onboard the train are included as part of your train ticket and the hotel will be assigned when you check-in for the train. Your room key for these stays will be provided to you while onboard the train for a seamless check-in experience, and your luggage will be waiting for you in your room.

This page is not an official voucher, though it may be referenced in the voucher column by JBI, EXP, or BO in the Voucher Column of your Travel Itinerary. If hotel staff are unable to locate your reservation, please present this page for reference. Any vouchers required for specific services will appear on the pages that follow.

Vouchers will be included at the end of this document for any tours or transfers that require one. The Voucher is referenced by a Voucher Code on your Travel Itinerary, indicating the supplier it was booked through.

Please print the required vouchers and have them with you at the time of the activity. Please provide your name to the driver/ tour guide.
