Getting To/From Moab:

Moab can be a tricky place to get to/from as it doesn’t have an international airport. Depending on the direction you choose to travel on the train, one way will be covered by the Rocky Mountaineer but the other will need to be organized by you if you are not traveling on one of our tour packages ending in Las Vegas or Salt Lake City. If you prefer to take the train in both directions, the 8 Day Denver Return Journey is a great option that allows for plenty of free time to explore Moab on your own.

Moab Flights:

The easiest solution is to fly to/from Canyonlands Field Airport which is located 20 minutes outside of Moab. This airport offers daily flights to Phoenix which has an international airport to connect through.

If you prefer to return to Denver, the Grand Junction Regional Airport offers flights to Denver as well as some other locations throughout the US such as Dallas, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orange County-Santa Ana, Phoenix, and San Franciso. The Grand Junction airport is approximately a 2-hour drive away from Moab. For transportation to this location, you may try a one-way car rental, or contact Moab Express for their shuttle options.

Getting to/from the airport in Moab requires either a taxi, rental car, or pre-booked motorcoach transfer:

The airport shuttle service should be pre-booked with Moab Express well in advance in order to secure your space. Click here to book this transfer

You can also call or text the following number for a taxi in Moab. Requesting in advance is recommended: Call or Text 1 (435) 210-4297

Moab Car Rental:

Rental cars are available from the Canyonlands Field Airport and should be pre-booked well in advance as they will often sell out. The car rental companies available at the airport are Enterprise Car Rental, Alamo Car Rental, and Canyonlands Jeep & Car Rental. Enterprise and Canyonlands also have locations available in downtown Moab. For convenience, the Rocky Mountaineer transfer from the train may be available to drop you off at the Enterprise car rental pick-up location downtown by special request. Otherwise, a taxi to your pick-up location will be required. Click here to book your car rental

If you are looking for a one-way rental and would like to drop the car off in a different city or state, Enterprise will be your best option.

Moab Accommodations:

The best hotel in Moab is the Hoodoo Moab, Curio Collection by Hilton Hotel which offers a great location downtown and includes Rocky Mountaineer transfers. Rocky Mountaineer transfers are also available to the Hyatt Place and Element Moab Hotel but both of these options are located on the outskirts of town. Shuttle service is available through the hotel but ideally, if you’re staying at one of these locations you will want to have a rental car.
