Beginning with the 2026 season, Rocky Mountaineer’s U.S. route, Rockies to the Red Rocks, will debut a fresh new identity: Canyon Spirit. This exciting rebrand signals a new chapter for the train experience that travels through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the United States.
New Name, Same Unforgettable Journey
While the Rocky Mountaineer name will remain exclusive to its celebrated Canadian routes, Canyon Spirit will become the new face of the U.S. itinerary. Travelers can continue to expect the same high standard of luxury and service they’ve come to associate with the Rocky Mountaineer name, just with a new look and feel tailored to the distinct spirit of the American Southwest.

Expanding the Journey: From Denver to Moab—and Beyond
Previously offered as a stunning 2-day rail journey from Denver, Colorado, to Moab, Utah, Canyon Spirit will introduce a new 3-day option starting in 2026. This extended route will continue from Moab to Salt Lake City, Utah, adding convenience and a seamless travel experience for guests looking to connect with a major international airport, which Moab currently lacks.
Whether short on time or planning an extended adventure, this flexible itinerary offers something for everyone. The original 2-day journey to Moab isn’t going anywhere. All tour packages featuring the classic route will still be available for those who want to spend a few days exploring the iconic red rock landscapes of Moab.
Onboard Experience, Refined
Along with the new name comes an update to the onboard experience branding:
- Canyon Spirit Signature Experience will replace SilverLeaf Service
- Premier Upgrade will replace SilverLeaf Plus Service
While the names are changing, the exceptional level of service, panoramic views, and storytelling-rich journey remain the same. This is a branding update only, aimed at better reflecting the tone and uniqueness of the American Southwest rail experience.

Rockies to the Red Rocks Pricing Information
Due to the small size of the town of Moab and its popularity as a tourist destination, many Canyon Spirit train dates during the travel season of April to November sell out 6+ months in advance. With the limited supply of space and the high demand, the cost of this train journey makes it a bucket-list item, not an everyday mode of transportation.
Canyon Spirit have a worldwide non-discount clause meaning that their train tickets cannot legally be discounted by resellers such as travel agents and tour operators. The Canyon Spirit prices for train rides in the American Southwest typically increase anywhere from 7-10% year over year so it is always important to book well in advance in order to guarantee yourself the best rates, as well as availability on your preferred dates.
*All routes include overnight accommodations at a moderate hotel at midway points as the train does not travel at night.
*Rates are per person, based on how many people will be sharing the Glenwood Springs hotel (Single, Double, Triple/Quad sharing).
Prices for the two-day Canyon Spirit rail tickets on the Rockies to Red Rocks route are static throughout the year. The cost of the Denver to Moab train in 2026 is USD $1723 per person with the Signature Train Experience, and USD $2327 with the Premier Upgrade.

Hotel accommodations in each location are considered moderate. You will be provided with a conveniently located, safe, clean, and comfortable room for each night of any of our vacation packages. The hotel in Glenwood Springs will be assigned the morning of train departure and your luggage will be waiting for you in your room when you arrive. Hotels in all other locations are automatically assigned but if you have a preference, please let us know and we would be happy to check on availability for you.
